Volunteering at the Festival
Volunteering as a steward at the festival is a great way to see the events and the writers but it also allows you to enjoy being part of the team. Duties include taking tickets, directing the public, reserving seats, passing microphones for questions and the like. The hours you give are not rigid and can be fitted around your commitments. Events are one hour long and are held in a number of venues in the town centre and each day the first event will start late morning and the last will be in the early evening. At all venues you will be working under the guidance of an experienced venue head who will direct you and answer any questions raised.
